Production of biogas as an automotive fuel from renewable materials
Frühbauer, Zdeněk ; Houdková, Lucie (referee) ; Dlabaja, Tomáš (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to specify and summarize possibilities of biogas production as a motor vehicle fuel by using the renewable energy sources. In the first part of the thesis there are the data concerning biogas, its production and chemical composition. An important part of the thesis is a description of current most used methods of cleaning which adjust biogas to quality of natural gas. The important part of this thesis is to introduce some of already working projects and to get knowledge about possibilities of making biogas from biologically decomposable material as a renewable energy source. The close of the thesis deals with energy, economy and ecological audit too and values biogas through all angles which decide about its using in larger size in the car industry.
Kitchen Waste Fermentation
Dlabaja, Tomáš ; Jícha, Jaroslav (referee) ; Boráň, Jaroslav (advisor)
Biodegradable waste is a significant type of waste, which includes kitchen waste from restaurants, catering establishments and kitchens as well. This work evaluates a waste production in the Czech Republic and compares it with a waste production of other European countries. It provides a brief search through legislation and analyzes present development, going from simple disposal of material to energetic and material utilization. New laws has established stiffer requirements for the treatment of dangerous biowaste including kitchen waste. Under all these changes benefits of the most suitable ways of waste treating are analyzed. Part of the work is a laboratory experiment of the biogas yield, which verifies theoretical assumption of kitchen waste utilization at anaerobic fermentation. In conclusion the economy calculation of such manufacturing plant is done.
Quality assessment of biowaste
Karasová, Milada ; Benešová, Libuše (advisor) ; Doležalová, Markéta (referee)
1 Biowaste has recently been the main problem of waste management. The problem lies in biowaste landfill. During its decomposition leads to air pollution and potentially are at risk ground water. This work deals with the quantity and quality of the produced biowaste and biowaste management. Contemporary technologies and pilot projects are also presented. Keys words: biowaste, quantity of biowaste, biowaste treatment
Biodegradable Waste: School Project for Lower Secondary School
Dvořáková, Kateřina ; Pavlasová, Lenka (advisor) ; Skýbová, Jana (referee)
The proper way to manage biological waste has only recently become a topic of discussion and the public still does not have enough information about it and does not have a comprehensive opinion. In order for bio-waste to be properly managed, knowledge of this topic and positive attitude towards it is necessary, in class this could be achieved by activating pupils through project based education. Teaching in projects is a great way to understand the issue, which can influence pupils' attitudes towards bio-waste management. The aim of this diploma thesis is to create a project on the topic of biodegradable waste, and then to find out how the knowledge and opinions of students about bio-waste have changed. The created project was verified at the lower secondary school, for which it is primarily intended. A total of 54 6th-year pupils was involved in this project. They were given a pretest before the start of the project, finding out the initial knowledge about bio-waste and their opinion on the classification of bio-waste. After the project, the pupils completed a posttest and by comparing the individual answers, it was determined whether and how the knowledge of the tested pupils and their attitude towards the topic changed. The answers of individual pupils in the pretest and posttest were evaluated...
Porovnání a hodnocení zařízení pro vermikompostování a kompostování v pásových zakládkách
Hustý, Miroslav
The current thesis focuses on comparison and evaluation of technical equipment for vermicomposting and composting in band piles. The technology of processing of biowaste and necessary technical equipment and machinery of composting plants are compared. The work is based on data obtained from field work, literature and internet sources. Two plants with different technologies of composting are assessed. I am considering the construction, technical equipment and machinery needed for daily operation in both plants. Also the final product - compost is explored in laboratory. The final results show that plants of similar size have similar requirements for technical equipment and machinery and their final product is equal in law requirement regarding dangerous substances.
Kompostování jako způsob nakládání s biologicky rozložitelnými odpady
Poláchová, Lenka
This bachelor's thesis "Composting as a way of handling biologically decomposable waste" describes the issue of biologically decomposable waste, its basic concepts, valid legal regulations, and last but not least also deals with statistical data for the period 2005-2016. It further provides a brief overview of possible ways of dealing with bi?owaste. One of these ways, composting, is further characterized and described from a practical example. For analysis a composting plant was selected with an annual capacity of 5000 Mg, which was formed in 2005 on the premises of an agricultural farm. The composting plant is based on the technology of open air composting in former silage and hay tro?u??ghs. Output compost for reclamation from this composting plant was tested in the laboratory with a test Phytotoxkit. The results of the measurements of phytotoxicity and information from the practical example have been included in the final part of this ba?????chelor thesis.
Zhodnocení odpadového hospodářství ve městě Letohradu
Koblížková, Hana
The diploma thesis deals with the assessment of the waste management of the town of Letohrad. The first part is focused on the legislation related to the waste management at the municipal level. It sums up duties and competences of a town resulting from the legislation. The description of the current state of the waste management of Letohrad follows, including the used methods of waste collection, waste processing, reuse or disposal. The door-to-door collection of paper, plastic, beverage cartons and metal, and the way of remuneration for sorting those commodities are described thoroughly. Further, the analysis of the amounts of municipal waste produced in the town is performed, including the comparison with the production of the Czech Republic and the Pardubice Region. In the final part, changes of the current waste management system of Letohrad are proposed.
Výzkum možností energetického využití biologicky dosoušené biomasy =: Research of the possibilities of energy utilization of biologically dried biomass /
John, Jakub
The aim of the thesis is to verify and experimentally prove that there is technically possible and economically, energetically and environmentally rational to produce solid fuel from biodegradable waste with parameters of solid alternative fuel according to planned legislation and to design equipment for such production. This research is carried out through literary research of similar solutions and past research and scientific publications, own experimental work and design of the technology. The experimental determination of the thermal performance of aerobic fermentation processes for subsequent utilization in biomass bio drying, the analysis of dependence of energy properties of the material on the input material composition, the theoretical demonstration of feasibility of the biomass bio drying technology without additional heat source and the design of the technology that would experimentally and theoretically described phenomena introduce into industrial practice.
Characteristics of worm tea - the liquid product of vermicomposting and perspectives of its subsequent use
Klubalová, Kateřina ; Innemanová, Petra (advisor) ; Zídková, Ljuba (referee)
Vermicomposting is a possible method for reducing the amount of landfilled bio- waste. The product of vermicomposting is called worm tea. The thesis deals with the issue of composition and possible usage of worm tea, which is a liquid product of vermicomposting. The aim was to assess the composition and properties of worm tea samples provided from households. Then a mixed sample was tested as a nutrient solution for hydroponic growing. One year operation of a small vermicomposter as a mean of community bio-waste disposal was also assessed in the thesis. Conductivity, pH, content of selected cations and anions and TOC were determined for each worm tea sample. Values of conductivity were then assessed by a correlation test with inhibition values gained from an ecotoxicological test with Sinapis alba. Testing of worm tea as a nutrient solution was done in an opened hydroponic system with Lactuca sativa seedlings. Results show that samples of worm tea are very different and they can not be watered down according to their conductivity as was hypothesised. The largest percentage of samples evinced stimulating qualities in a concentration of 2,5 %. Worm tea can be used as an alternative of nutrient solution for hydroponic growth and it has potential for utilization as an stimulant for germination and...
